Buying at the Auction

Viewing

You may browse the catalogue before the auction online. New items may be added up until 10.30am on the day of the auction.

All of the lots will be available to browse from 10.30am on the day. You may handle and inspect them and volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions.

There will also be the opportunity to place a commission bid. It is strongly recommended that anyone wishing to make a bid first views the items in person.

Bidding

On arrival in the evening, you will be invited to register for a paddle with a unique number. To bid, simply raise your paddle. If you are successful, your number will be recorded.

If you are unable to attend the auction you are welcome to make a ‘commission bid’. The auctioneer will carry out a commission bid on your behalf and endeavour to purchase a lot or lots at the lowest price possible against any other bids or reserves. In the instance of identical commission bids, the first bid placed will take precedence. Commission bids will be taken in person on the day of the auction before the auction starts, and may be taken by telephone (07583 175990) in exceptional circumstances.

Payment and Collection

There will be the opportunity to pay for and collect items immediately following the auction, and this is preferred.

Successful bidders will need to pay for the items by 5pm on the Friday following the auction. Payment can be made by cash, debit/credit card, and some phone payment services. Please make sure that we can accept your payment method before bidding.

Once items have been paid for in full, items can be released to the purchaser. The purchaser is to arrange collection or delivery. We do not provide postage or packaging services but we can recommend specialist carriers if you wish to have items delivered.
